A full-house project that took the kitchen, the flooring and the finishes at the same time, so the family lived through the disruption once instead of three times.
The original kitchen was closed off and dark, with the usual mid-2000s builder cabinetry and a countertop that had given up. We took it back, reworked the run, and rebuilt it in espresso shaker cabinetry with white quartz over the top.
Carrying the subway tile across the full wall rather than stopping it at the upper cabinets is a small decision that makes the room read as finished rather than updated. New flooring went through at the same time to tie the kitchen into the rest of the house.
