The homeowners were weighing up doing the kitchen now and the floors later. Running both at once meant one round of disruption, one crew and one set of transitions that actually line up at the doorways.
In the kitchen, quartz counters replaced the originals, a tile backsplash went up to the window line, and the base cabinets nearest the dining area were opened up into usable storage rather than closed doors.
